Juliana Lee

Speaker's Biography

Ms. Lee is a HGSA certified genetic counsellor with over 18 years clinical experience and currently working at Genetic Counselling Asia, providing private genetic counselling service since 2016. She obtained her BSc. (Hons.) in Genetics from the National University of Malaysia in 2002, completed the Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling at the University of Melbourne in 2003 and graduated with Master of Counselling from University of Malaya in 2009. She began practice at the University Malaya Medical Centre in 2004 up till 2014 before moving on to private practice. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to the development of the genetic counselling profession in Malaysia and other Asian countries with the aim to improve patient access to genetic counselling and genetic testing. She is the founding member of the Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS), President of the Professional Society of Genetic Counselors in Asia (PSGCA), Secretary of the Genetic Counselling Society Malaysia (GCSM) and a visiting lecturer of the Master of Medical Science (Genetic Counselling) programme at the National University of Malaysia
